Christmas is Almost Here!

It's Advent and we're busy getting ready for Christmas! I'm very grateful to my students who decorated my classroom and made it look festive. It's beautiful!

Please remind your parents and other family members to attend our Christmas program on Thursday at 6:30 p.m. There will be a very special performance by the teachers and I'm sure nobody wants to miss that!

Thanksgiving Vacation Is Here!

There's no homework this weekend. Enjoy your time with your family and friends! As a side note, if any of your family members has a recipe for tamales that uses leftover turkey, I'd love to hear it!
Rest up, be safe, and have fun!

Our Field Trip by Wesley in 6th Grade

On the big middle school field trip on October 22nd, I went to two places. Those two places were Indiana Dunes and the Cooke Nuclear Power Plant. Not only did we go to those two places, we also got to go to McDonald's.
The first thing we did to start the field trip was to get on a bus. The bus had five TVs. It also had a lot of speakers for all of us students. The bus ride to the dunes was about an hour and a half long.
At the dunes I went on a hike. I hiked about 2 miles; I hiked over dunes and jumped over small streams. At the end of the hike, I had to pick up trash. I saw the Chicago skyline too. That was one of my favorite parts.
On the hike I saw two beaver lodges and one beaver dam. I got to eat lunch by the second beaver lodge. After the hike, I went to the Cooke Nuclear Power Plant. I watched four videos. The videos were all about energy and the power plan. After the videos I got to play games. In all of the games you had to make energy.
After the Cooke Power Plant, Ms.Bridge (the principal)took the whole middle
school to McDonalds. After McDonalds I went back to school. I got picked up and went home. That was the best field trip ever .

Welcome to Our Classroom Blog!

Welcome!

Beginning today we will be blogging our classroom activities! Students will be recording homework assignments and sharing exciting classroom events here online. The best part about this is that you'll be able to access the blog from your home computers!

If you followed my request and looked carefully at this blog, you will be able to answer an extra-credit question tomorrow in class.

Have a wonderful evening!
